Steam Inventory Helper (SIH) is a browser extension and web platform that lets CS2 skin traders compare live prices across 28+ marketplaces in one view. Founded in 2014, SIH serves 11M+ total users and 1.92M active traders worldwide. Our float database holds 1.2B records, the deepest dataset for skin valuation on the market. This page covers who we are, how our data works, the team behind the product, and how to contact us.

When Steam Inventory Helper launched in 2014, CS:GO skin trading was scattered across dozens of third-party sites with inconsistent prices, no way to verify item condition, and constant scam risk. Traders lost money every day simply because comparing a skin's real value required opening 10+ tabs by hand. SIH was built to solve that. We pull live prices from 28+ marketplaces into one overlay, surface float values directly on Steam pages, and publish a continually updated float database so traders can judge skin quality before buying. Our mission is simple: give every CS2 trader the tools and data to make informed decisions, whether they are buying their first skin or managing an inventory worth six figures.
Ten years of operation, billions of data points, and a global trader base. Here is SIH at a glance.

Price Comparison Methodology
SIH pulls live pricing from 28+ CS2 skin marketplaces, including Steam Market, Skinport, CSFloat, DMarket, and 24 others. Our crawlers fetch active listings every 30 to 60 seconds, normalise prices against float value, wear tier, and pattern, and display a unified buy/sell view for every skin. All prices shown are raw listings, not averages or estimates. When the same skin is listed on multiple platforms, SIH shows the exact price on each, including seller or buyer fees, so traders can compare true takeaways side by side. Data accuracy is verified against platform APIs where available and against direct page scraping where not. Discrepancies larger than 2% are flagged for human review.

Float Database
The SIH float database holds 1.2 billion records, one of the largest publicly available sources of CS2 skin condition data. Float values are collected through Steam inspect links submitted by extension users and through direct marketplace scraping where permitted. Each record stores the skin's float (wear) value, pattern index, stickers, and timestamp. The database covers every knife, glove, and weapon skin released since CS:GO 2015, including all StatTrak variants. Updates happen continuously as new listings appear. On average, 500k+ new records are added each day, with particular focus on rare float extremes (Factory New below 0.01, Battle-Scarred above 0.90) that command premium prices.
Analytics & Market Indexes
SIH publishes market indexes that track the overall CS2 skin economy. Our main indexes measure average price movement across tiers (budget, mid-tier, high-tier), case opening return rates, and popular investment categories such as souvenir skins and discontinued collections. Each index is calculated daily from the price comparison feed using a weighted average of active listings. Weights are based on listing volume per marketplace, so liquid markets like Steam and Skinport contribute more than thin markets. Historical index data is available back to 2018, letting traders analyse long-term trends, seasonal patterns, and how major events (Operations, case releases, Valve economy changes) affect the market.

SIH is built and maintained by a distributed team of CS2 veterans, software engineers, and data analysts. Combined, we have decades of experience across gaming, trading, and data infrastructure. Meet the people behind the product.
